Written and directed by Ritchey Cable in conjunction with Portal Pictures, Parable follows a group of strangers who awaken in a mysterious setting and are forced to confront their own mortality. As the characters navigate the delicate terrain between life and death, they grapple with what it truly means to live. The film encourages audiences to reflect on their choices, relationships, and the meaning of life in a deeply emotional and resonant way.

The film was lauded on the film festival circuit with viewers praising the hopefulness of the message and the depth of storytelling. Recognized for its thoughtful narrative and engaging performances, one festival-goer described Parable as “the Breakfast Club for a new generation”. The ensemble cast includes Wyomi Reed, Zarrette Rogers, Raquel Lebish, Bryan Duong, Kelli Stuart, Cameron Stout, and Sabrina Broyles, each delivering layered, nuanced performances that bring depth to the story.

James Harrison awakes in a small hospital bed. He is disoriented, confused. Where is he? How did he get there? How much time has passed? An old lady enters his room, points a bony finger his way and rasps, “I know what you did to Timothy Brown”. And she is gone… This is his reintroduction to life after a cracked skull and a coma. His most recent past is now a mystery. Perceiving that his brain needs a chance to organize life’s events back in order, his doctor gives him an assignment fit only for an author: to write the story of the last six months of his life.

While her day job has remained writing, Kelli has shifted her storytelling focus in recent years to include films. Serving as screenplay editor for multiple scripts, Kelli has joined forces with Portal Pictures as their Head of Development. In 2021, Kelli was cast in a supporting role in the Walker-Cable feature-length film, The Author, which is now available on Prime Video and AppleTV. In 2023, Kelli teamed with writer/director Ritchey Cable to executive produce the feature-length film, Parable, in which she also starred in a supporting role. Parable was widely recognized on the film festival circuit with several nominations (including a Best Actress nomination for Kelli at the International Christian Film Festival), and awards, including Best Picture, Audience Choice, Best Director, and Best Screenply. Parable was picked up for exclusive streaming on Angel Studios and is also available for rent/purchase on Prime Video. Kelli and her collaborative partner, Ritchey Cable, are currently developing their next film project, which will also be released as a novel.
